A gradual rise in recovered cases of Covid 19 is being witnessed as the cured patients outnumbered those infected in the last 24 hours in Maharashtra. While the number of new cases was 4,930, over six thousand patients were discharged yesterday.
Recovery rate of COVID-19 stands at 92.49 percent while the case fatality rate is 2.58 percent. Maharashtra has conducted 1 crore nine lakh tests so far. Meanwhile, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has claimed that there will be no shortage of oxygen in Pune division.
Pune division of the Food and Drug Administration has claimed that they have adequate reserves of oxygen in the wake of a possible second wave of Covid-19. Assistant Commissioner S.V. Pratapwar informed that Chakan MIDC has commissioned a 100 tonne capacity oxygen generation project. Therefore, there will be no shortage of oxygen in Pune division.
State Food and Drugs Administration minister, Dr. Rajendra Shingane has appealed to the NGOs, government machinery to organise blood donation camps by adhering to Covid-19 protocols. In order to overcome the shortfall of blood in the unlock period, he has asked the donors to voluntarily come forward.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that the government plans to vaccinate doctors and health professionals, police force and people suffering from comorbidities in the first phase. Speaking to reporters in Jalna district, he said that the state is in constant touch with the Centre and will provide the approved COVID-19 vaccine in phases, as per the guidelines that will be issued by the central government.
