Senior Congress leader Mukul Wasnik has been asked By Congress President to rush to Goa to oversee latest political developments in the State. Congress leader K C Venugopal has tweeted about the development.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of Goa and Senior Congress leader Digambar Kamat told reporters today that he is hurt by some of the statements made by Dinesh Gundu Rao, In-charge of Goa, yesterday. However, he made it clear that he is still with the party.

There are 11 Congress MLAs in Goa and since yesterday there were rumors that 8 of them including Mr Kamat are likely to join BJP. Mr. Kamat had abstained from the Congress meeting yesterday and various speculations were in the air.

Yesterday, Congress MLA Michael Lobo was removed as Leader of Opposition in Goa legislative assembly after a conspiracy to “engineer defections” as said by AICC Goa in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao in a press conference. Meanwhile, Goa assembly session has begun today.
