Congress turncoat Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh, joined the BJP on Tuesday and said that his former party is no longer the unit it used to be.

Former Union minister Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh, who quit the Congress party today joined the BJP.
After formally taking the membership of the BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi, RPN Singh said, “For 32 years, I worked diligently with the Congress. It has changed. It is no longer the party it used to be.”

“If the country is to be taken forward, I would do whatever is needed as a party worker,” RPN Singh said.

RPN Singh said that for many years, people were telling him to join the BJP. “Today, I can only say ‘better late than never’,” RPN Singh said.

“I’m proud I come from Purvanchal. The kind of progress the ‘double engine’ government has done in Purvanchal is for all to see,” he added.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who welcomed RPN Singh into the BJP fold, said, “I would tell RPN Singh on a few occasions that someone like you should be with Modi ji. It is a good sign that he accepted PM Modi’s leadership.”
