It also discussed the possible fallout of the report and the need to develop strategies to counter any move by the Opposition, according to highly placed sources.
The meeting was held at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s 7, Race Course Road residence.
Besides Manmohan Singh, the meeting was attended by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and the leaders apart from the Congress Party’s core group members like Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel, party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
This is the first meeting of the core committee in the absence of party Chief Sonia Gandhi who is recuperating abroad after a surgery. Also the important member of the core group and general secretary of the party, Rahul Gandhi was absent as he is away with his mother who is under treatment in US.
Sonia Gandhi’s son and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi is among the four leaders named to oversee party affairs in her absence.
