HYDERABAD: Congress MPs and MLAs from Telangana Region have launched a hunger strike here on Monday. They demanded the State and Central Governments to lift all the cases registered against students during last year agitations. All the elected representatives of the regions are taking part in the hunger strike. Congress Working Committee member and MP K Kesava Rao said their hunger strike was aimed at bringing moral pressure on the Government to lift the cases against students without any categorization.

He said, despite Union Home Minister Chidambaram’s assurances and repeated requests from party MPs the cases have not been lifted. He added that their agitation would continue till a clear announcement was made over the issue. The Telangana Congress representatives have launched the stir at GunPark after paying tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue in the Assembly Premises.
