Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the Haryana Government is not only committed to ensure the safety and security of the people belonging to Scheduled Castes but also sensitive towards their rights. He said that those found violating their law would not be spared and stern action would be taken. Chief Minister was replying to the queries of media persons at Chandigarh today.

On being asked about the incident of Sunped in district Faridabad, the Chief Minister said that taking immediate cognizance of the incident and realizing grief of the victim’s family, the State government has provided an immediate financial relief of Rs 10 lakh. The state government also announced to give government job to one member of the family. Apart from this, the State government has also ordered a CBI inquiry into the whole incident.

On being asked about the tragic incident of 14 year boy`s death at Gohana, Chief Minister said that the matter is being investigated by the Police. He said that the postmortem report is still awaited and the actual reasons behind the incident could be ascertained only after getting both the reports.

In reply to another question, he said that to ensure the effective implementation of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 in the State, regular meetings of State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee and District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committees are being held.
