Reaffirms Dhaka’s anti-terror stance

Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir that killed at least 26 people. “We strongly condemn this heinous act. Let me reaffirm Bangladesh’s resolute stand against terrorism,” Yunus said in a message to Indian Premier Narendra Modi. On his Facebook page, Yunus added, “Excellency, please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of life resulting from the terrorist attack that took place in Kashmir’s Phalgam.”
According to Indian police, armed men opened fire on tourists in Baisaran meadow, about 5 km from Pahalgam, killing 26 and injuring several others.
According to Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh strongly condemns the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in India, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives. “Bangladesh extends deepest condolence to the families of the victims and expresses heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the mindless act of violence. Bangladesh reiterates its unwavering commitment to the global fight against terrorism,” it added.
