Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today reviewed the preparedness and monitoring mechanism of the State Health Department to deal with Coronavirus in Guwahati.
Mr Sonowal appealed people not to panic and urged them to maintain personal hygiene to keep themselves safe from this virus. He also urged people not to be apprehensive about seeing any foreigner and directed the Police Department to take needful steps for their security.
The Chief Minister directed the Health Department to take steps for sensitizing all government officials up to Panchayat level on the Coronavirus and precautionary measures needed to be taken.
He also asked the Health Department to carry out extensive awareness activities involving field level functionaries of the department. He also directed to impart training to staff of government and private health institutions.
