The Assam government has announced a total of 800 crore rupees for the development of weavers and unorganized sector’s workers. Addressing a gathering in Guwahati on Sunday on the occasion of the 4th year completion of state government, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has announced a slew of measures for the development of people.
Gogoi said that an amount of 5 thousand rupees will be given to 1 lakh 26 thousand marginal farmers in this financial year. He said that no land will be acquired without the consent of the farmers. The Chief Minister further said that state government will initiate an insurance scheme with an annual premium of 5 rupees only.
