Security forces yesterday busted a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunitions in Bandipora district in North Kashmir. The latest recovery is the fourth such occurrence during past three months in the district. Police sources confirmed that a joint operation by Army and Special Operations Group of J&K Police, was launched wee hours yesterday wherein one militant hideout was busted in Bhoothu Nallah dense forest area, around 65 Kms from Srinagar.
Sources added that acting on a specific tip off after intense search, one hideout was busted and large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered which included 1 RPG Booster, 3 RPG Rockets, 4 cylinder plastic jars containing explosive material, 234 AK 47 Rifle rounds. Reliable sources added that on March 14 this year, arms and ammunition had been recovered from hideout in Kudara forest hilly area, around 18 kms from Bandipora headquarter.
In a similar incident on March 29, security forces busted hideout in forest area in Dardpora, around 11 kms from district headquarters. On the 04th of this month in Gubari Nallah forest area in Arin around 10 Kms from Bandipora, the security forces had also busted one hideout and recovered arms and ammunition.
