Maulana Azad Library, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with Turnitin, USA and iGroup Infotech, Noida jointly organized a seminar on “Academic Integrity and Plagiarism” at the Cultural Hall of the Library. More than 180 research scholars, faculty members and students attended the seminar.
Key speaker, Mr. Jack Brazel, who had come from Australia, discussed how the anti plagiarism software could help institutions and students in improving the standard of the writing skills. He showed keenness to work with other academics of the University who would like to develop academic integrity.
Mr. Brazel, along with other two trainers from Turnitin, USA conducted the workshop and live sessions on Plagiarism and Similarity.
Mr. Nirmal Bengani, National Sales Manager of the iGroup elaborated on how to avoid plagiarism, copying and how the software helped to detect these problems in academic writings.
In his presidential remarks, Brig. Syed Ahmad Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor, shared his working experience in academics and research. He urged the research scholars to avoid copying and pasting culture.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Dr. Nabi Hasan, University Librarian, elaborated on the theme of the seminar and extended thanks to his colleagues for making the event successful.
Dr. Shayesta Bedar, Assistant Librarian conducted the programme and Dr. Amjad Ali, Deputy Librarian proposed a vote of thanks.
