BJP President Amit Shah and Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani will contest the Rajya Sabha polls from Gujarat. The decision was taken at party’s parliamentary board which met in New Delhi this evening.
The term Ms Irani, Congress leader Ahmed Patel and Dilip Pandya are coming to an end on 18th of next month. The election is scheduled for 8th August.
Tribal leader of the party from Mandla in Madhya Pradesh Ms Sampatiya Uikey will contest the Rajya Sabha bye-poll from state. The seat fall vacant due to demise of Union Minister Anil Madhav Dave.
