US Republicans and Democrats have agreed on a bill that allows new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. Under the legislation, President Trump must submit to Congress a report on proposed actions that would significantly alter US foreign policy in connection with Russia. It also aims to prevent him from relaxing sanctions without lawmakers’ consent. The bill will be considered on Tuesday under an expedited process that requires a two-thirds majority for passage. This means the bill will pass with a veto-proof majority.
