The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari expressed grief over the death of renowned personality Hashim Ansari who had been attached with the Babri Masjid case since 1949. Maulana Umari described him as a valuable protector of the Muslim dignity and as a symbol of patience and perseverance.
Jamaat chief said that Hashim Ansari will always be remembered by the Indian Muslims for his long tireless and selfless efforts for the
restoration of Babri Masjid since after the installation of some idols in it, ban on namaz, its reopening and continued his fight even after its
demolition.
Maulana Umari said that in his life, it was alleged in the media that he was getting some personal benefits at the cost of the mosque but all these
allegations never shook his determination and that is why the Muslim community is deeply grieved at his death today. Showing love for him, a
large number of people from the community offered funeral prayers and all organizations and leaders expressed heartfelt sorrow over his
demise.
Jamaat president prayed to Allah to accept Hashim Ansari’s long struggle for the restoration of Babri Masjid, reward him with high places in
paradise and grant patience to his family members.
It is notable that a delegation of around 50 members of Jamaat’s Uttar Pradesh (East) Zone attended the funeral prayers in Ayodhya. Jamaat’s
Secretary General Mohammad Salim Engineer himself talked to Hashim Ansari’s son Mohammad Iqbal over phone and offered condolences.
