The overnight rains and storm in northern plains led to a steep fall in the mercury. A MeT department official said, the minimum temperature in Delhi was today recorded at 23.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average. It is down by 7.4 degrees from yesterday’s maximum temperature.
The Safdarjung observatory recorded 10.2 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. The MeT Office has forecast overcast conditions along with the possibility of rains during the day. Unseasonal rains and dust storm have damaged wheat crop lying in open Mandis.
