Pakistan has strongly condemned the exceution of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami. Pakistan Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan today said that the treatment meted out to the leaders of Jamaat- e-Islami by the Bangladesh government was inhuman and against the international laws.
While raising this issue with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the minister said that present government of Bangladesh was targeting the JI leadership as their only fault was to show loyalty with Pakistan as a Pakistani 45 years before. Strongly condemning the incident, Chaudhry Nisar said that international community was silent on the matter, adding that “We should raise voice against the inhuman policy of the Bangladesh
government.”
National Assembly passed a unanimous resolution tosay expressing serious concerns over the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former Minister Motiur Rahman Nizami by the Bangladeshi government. The resolution was moved by Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain.
The resolution condemned the judicial proceedings against the law and justice and human rights, despite serious objections by the international human rights organizations on war crimes law and the justification of the courts.On points of order, Sahibzada Tariqullah, Shaista Pervaiz and Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader in Bangladesh Motiur Rahman Nizami. They said that the execution was a violation of pact signed among Bangladesh, India and Pakistan in 1974.
Bangladesh authorities today hanged Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami for committing war crimes during the country’s 1971 Liberation War.
Police said, 73-year old Nizami was hanged at Dhaka Central Jail midnight last night. He is the senior most Islamist to be executed in Bangladesh for war crimes during the liberation war against Pakistan.
