Nearly 24 thousand people have been affected due to flood in Sivsagar, Jorhat and Lakhimpur districts In Assam. Official sources said that 85 villages have been inundated in the first wave of flood of this year.
Surging water also damaged crop areas. Nearly 540 people have been shifted to six temporary relief camps in Sivsagar district. Relief materials have been distributed by administration.
