jnu union presidentThe Delhi High Court today adjourned the hearing on Kanhaiya’s bail plea till February 29. The decision came as Delhi Police informed the High Court that they will seek fresh remand of JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar as two more students have been arrested on sedition charges.

The counsel for Delhi police contended that Kanhaiya’s further police remand was necessary for confronting the other two accused.

Meanwhile, the High Court today asked police to conduct remand proceedings secretly so that arrested students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya are not harmed.

The court will also pass directions with regard to the place, where Khalid and Bhattacharya, are be produced after consultation with the authorities concerned.
