Encounter between security forces and terrorists concluded Monday evening after nearly 48 hours at Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir. Five soldiers died in the line of duty, one civilian too lost his life and three terrorists were eliminated in the gun battle.

Residents of Pampore woke up on Monday morning to the shock of a grenade blast in the Entrepreneurship Development Institute on Srinagar Jammu National Highway in Pampore town.

The day marked the third continuous day of Army operations against terrorists holed up in the multi storey complex of the institute.

All the 3 militants were killed by the afternoon..A search then began to flush out any remaining ultras.

The death toll in the encounter numbers 6, including two CRPF jawans, two army officers, an army jawan and one civilian.

The encounter which began two days ago resumed on Monday with intermittent firing on both sides from 5:30 in the morning .It all began on Saturday when a CRPF convoy was attacked by the militants who then took refuge in the EDI after killing 2 jawans of the crpf, another jawan and a civilian and injuring 9 others.
