rape accusedThree convicts have been awarded death sentence while other three have been given life imprisonment in the Kamduni gang-rape case in West Bengal.

Chief Judicial Magistrate in Kolkata awarded death sentence to Amin Ali, Ansar and Saiful, while handed down life sentences to Bhola, Aminur and Imanul.

The Magistrate had on January 28 pronounced all the six accused guilty. The court acquitted the other two of the total eight surviving accused in the case.

A B.A. second year student was gang-raped and murdered inside an isolated compound at Kamduni village in North 24-Paraganas district in June 2013.

The girl was returning home from her college. Her brutalised body was found next day.

In all, nine persons were arrested in this case. One of the arrested persons died of illness in August last year.
