Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Assam visit on Tuesday, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi alleged that the BJP is losing its ground in the state. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today, Mr Gogoi said that the Congress will fight the upcoming assembly polls alone. He said that the Prime Minister has been forced to approach the regional parties like Bodoland Peoples Front for alliance.

Mr Modi will address a meeting at Kokrajhar on Tuesday, the heartland of Bodoland Territorial Council. On the other hand, the BJP and Asom Gana Parishad had held two round of talks on alliance. BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Asom Gana Parishad has submitted a list of candidates to the BJP. He said that the BJP will discuss the list.

State Congress President Anjan Dutta yesterday said that it would give ticket to all current MLAs. Meanwhile, in a television interview, the President of Bodoland Peoples Front Hagrama Mahilary said that his party will formally announce alliance with the BJP if Prime Minister declares at least 500 crore rupees package on Tuesday.
