The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, today examined Anant Singh, MLA in Patna in connection with irregularities in award of contract by Barh Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC. The examination was done after the agency took permission of the court.
The investigation agency had registered a case against a Patna based private firm, Anant Singh and officials of NTPC on 1st of August this year.
It was alleged that there were large scale irregularities in award of contracts to various parties by NTPC, Barh Super Thermal Power Plant, Barh, Patna.
In pursuance to this information, a joint surprise check was conducted by CBI alongwith vigilance branch of NTPC. It was revealed that a local group, headed by the MLA, allegedly indulged in cartelization in award of contracts and not allowing outside parties to function and participate in the tender. Further investigation is continuing.
