Income Tax Department has issued notices to four MPs and 12 MLAs following five times increase in their income as compared to the last election in Bihar. Affidavit filed by them at the time of nomination reveals that movable and immovable properties have increased five times. The notices were served to former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and three cabinet colleagues of Nitish Government, Shravan Kumar, Narendra Narayan Yadav and Manoj Kumar Singh.
The notices were also issued to four MPs Shatrughan Sinha, Hari Manjhi, Sushil Kumar Singh and Bhola Singh. The Election Commission is closely monitoring properties of public representatives at all level after issuance of election notification.
