Tourism Minister Dr Maheh Sharma said the government has three pronged strategy to regulate high airfare during festive seasons. In an interview to All India Radio, Mr Sharma said, the fares can be regulated by consensus among airlines or aviation regulator DGCA or National carrier Air India. He said, government is not in favour of using its regulatory power. The Minister said, he has convened meeting of heads of Air lines on 15th of this month to discuss the issue. He expressed hope that they will agree to arrive at a consensus not to overcharge air passengers during festive seasons.
