Intermittent rainfall across most parts of Himachal Pradesh has affected normal life at several places. Due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall, two national highways and 204 other roads in the state are blocked for traffic.

On the Shimla-Dharamshala National Highway, a boulder fell on a moving car near Bharari Ghat today, killing one person and injuring two others. In another incident, two persons were injured after stones fell on a vehicle from a hillside at Barad in the Ani subdivision of Kullu district. They have been admitted to Ani Hospital for treatment.

Heavy rainfall has also led to a rise in the water level of the Beas River and other rivers and rivulets in the district. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, two national highways and 204 other roads are blocked for traffic across the state. Besides, 45 power transformers and 82 drinking water supply schemes have also been affected.
