The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had decided to propose its Vice President, Dol Prasad Aryal, as the candidate for Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR). A parliamentary party meeting of the RSP held in Singhadurbar yesterday took this decision. A proposal made by RSP President Rabi Lamichhane was unanimously approved by the parliamentary party meeting. The HoR meeting has been summoned at 11 am on Sunday (April 5) for the election of the HoR Speaker. Currently, Arjun Narsingh KC, senior most member of Parliament is acting speaker in the House of Representative until a new Speaker is elected on April 5.
Vice Chairperson of the RSP, Dol Prasad Aryal, filed his nomination for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives at Singha Durbar-based Federal parliament Secretariat today. RSP Chairperson and lawmaker Rabi Lamichhane proposed the candidacy of Aryal while lawmakers Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam and Sunil Lamsal seconded it.
