The India Post has introduced 24/7 Speed Post and Parcel booking facilities in 11 major cities of Andhra Pradesh, in a move aimed at improving customer convenience and strengthening logistics support for businesses.
Announcing the initiative, the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle, said the round-the-clock booking service has been launched to ensure that citizens and business establishments can access postal services at any time, particularly for urgent consignments.
The 24-hour facility will be available in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore, Kurnool, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Kadapa, Anantapur, Ongole and Guntakal.
In addition, the Department has extended the working hours by one to two hours in 242 other major town post offices across the State. The step is expected to reduce congestion during peak business hours and provide greater flexibility to customers.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernise services and enhance accessibility. The Chief Postmaster General appealed to the public and the business community to make use of the newly introduced 24/7 facilities in the identified cities and the extended working hours in other post offices as per their convenience.
