Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) convened a Strategic Consultative Meeting on its ambitious 25-Year Roadmap for the Educational and Economic Development of the Community, on Friday, 23rd January 2006, at Islam Gymkhana here.
The consultation brought together Mumbai’s top 80+ social, political, professional and community leaders, marking a historic and forward-looking moment in AMP’s journey and in the collective planning for the community’s future.
The distinguished gathering included Mr. Amin Patel, MLA – South Mumbai; Ms. Sana Malik, MLA – North Mumbai, Mr. Yusuf Abrahani, Former MLA & President, Islam Gymkhana; Mr. Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee, Haji Ali & Mahim Dargah Trust; Mr. V. R. Shariff, Senior Industrialist; Adv. Yusuf Muchhala, Senior Advocate, Bombay High Court; Mr. Iqbal Memon Officer, President, All India Memon Jamat Federation (AIMJF); Mr. Huzaifa Haryanawala, PRO, Badri Mahal (Bohra Jamat); Mr. Farid Noori, Noori Group of Companies; Mr. Mubin Qureshi, Social Leader, Madanpura, and several other eminent personalities.
A Vision Beyond Generations
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Aamir Edresy, President – AMP, presented AMP’s national journey since 2007, its impact across education, employment and empowerment, and the framework and phased implementation plan of the 25-Year Roadmap. He also outlined plans for a National Conference in October–November 2026 in Mumbai, where the Roadmap document will be formally launched.

Collective Wisdom, Shared Responsibility
Yusuf Abrahani, Former MLA & President, Islam Gymkhana, remarked “This consultation revives the spirit of the great Muslim Educational Conferences of the past — where visionaries came together not for positions, but for purpose,”
Mr. Amin Patel, MLA – South Mumbai, said “Development does not happen overnight. It requires vision, continuity and collective effort. AMP’s 25-Year Roadmap is a timely and much-needed initiative that brings clarity, accountability and direction to community development.”
Participants engaged in deep deliberations, offering strategic inputs, critical insights, and long-term perspectives, while unanimously stressing the urgency of structured planning, institutional development, and leadership continuity.
Sana Malik, MLA – North Mumbai, noted “The strength of this roadmap lies in its realism and inclusivity. It brings together experience, data, and collective wisdom to chart a future our next generations deserve”.
“This is not merely a document in the making — it is the foundation of an ecosystem that can uplift an entire community through education and economic self-reliance,” observed Mr. Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee, Haji Ali & Mahim Dargah Trust.
The meeting was hosted by Prof. Qasim Imam, Retired HOD – Urdu, Burhani College, while Mr. Sayeed Khan, Founder – Rightway Foundation, presented a comprehensive background of AMP’s evolution and grassroots impact since its inception.

The session concluded with a strong reaffirmation that collective leadership, foresight and unity are essential to shaping a sustainable future.
This strategic consultation was not just a meeting — it marked the beginning of a historic journey toward educational excellence, economic empowerment, and generational progress.
