19 people were killed and many injured in separate road accidents yesterday in South Africa. In the Limpopo Province, seven people were killed and five injured, in an accident involving a pileup of seven cars on the N1 highway. Violet Mathye, Member of the executive council for transport and community safety at the Limpopo Provincial Legislature said that the injured were immediately taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, in another incident, twelve people were killed and many injured in a head-on collision in Eastern Cape Province. According to the spokesperson for the Provincial Transport Department, the crash involved a minibus taxi carrying 10 passengers and a pickup truck, with four occupants.
