The main runway of one of India’s busiest airports on Sunday remained shut for the third day in a row.

Operations to remove stuck Turkish Airways aircraft which skidded off the runway at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport  are still in progress. Spokesperson for Mumbai International Airport Limited, Anindita Sinha  said that the process of recovery of the stuck aircraft is in progress.

The Mumbai International Airport Limited has deployed all resources and completed construction of a pavement to remove the aircraft from the site. She added that the next steps are subject to an assessment of ground and weather conditions. Meanwhile, delays or diversions have been reported at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Aiport in Mumbai since today morning.

A Mumbai bound Turkish Airways flight TK-720 arriving from Istanbul with 97 passengers aboard had skidded off the taxiway at the Chatrapati Shivaji International Aiport in Mumbai on Friday morning causing major delays and diversions in flight operations.
