The NHRC in its report has ruled out rape of women in the district.
Responding to questions from reporters, Information and Broadcasting minister Ambika Soni said that National Commission for Women which also visited Bhatta Persaul, came out with a different report.
She said that views and counter views are coming on the probe into the incident. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party General Secretary Digvijay Singh had visited Bhatta Persual during a farmers’ agitation month. Congress party had then charged that women were raped when the Uttar Pradesh government ordered a crack down on agitators.
