unauthorised Travel Agencies indulging in illegal business of sale of rail tickets and passengers travelling on transferred tickets( on other’s name).
In the checks conducted during the period 1.6.11 to 20.6.11, the team was able to nab 3 unauthorised travel agencies  and 15 tickets were recovered from them. They were handed over to the RPF for further prosecution Under Section 143/144 of Indian Railway Act.

Some 89 touts were nabbed for indulging in illegal sale/canvassing of reserved rail tickets. They were handed over to the RPF for further prosecution Under Section 143/144 of Indian Railway Act. During the raids, 385 persons were detected travelling on transferred tickets and  a sum of Rs. 2,27,714/- was  realised  from them.

Preventive checking drive will continue to be conducted to curb the menace. Northern Railway reiterates its appeal to the general public not to patronise touts and unauthorised ticketing agencies. These preventive checks will continue in future.
