NEW DELHI (AMN): The Ministry of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs. 4200,00,000 crore as part payment of Ist installment of Phase-VI, for construction of rural roads in Himachal Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Under same scheme the Ministry has released grant in aid worth Rs. 8,27,00,000 as part payment of Ist installment of Phase VII for construction of rural roads in Sikkim .
Similarly the Ministry has released grant in aid worth Rs. 120,00,00,000 as part payment of 2nd installment of Phase VII for construction of rural roads in Rajasthan.
Rs. 265,48,00,000 has been released grant in aid as part payment of 2nd installment of Phase V for construction of rural roads in Orissa and Rs. 300,00,00,000 as part payment of 2nd installment of Phase VII for construction of rural roads in Assam.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a 100 per cent centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country. PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hilly states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads.
