Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday night to discuss the Ukraine crisis. The meeting lasted for three hours. He also spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after his meeting with Putin. Later Bennett flew to Germany to meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to Bennett’s office, the trip was made in coordination with the Biden administration.

Mr. Bennett was accompanied by Housing Minister Ze’ev Elkin along with National Security Adviser Eyal Hulata, diplomatic adviser Shimrit Meir, and spokesman Matan Sidi.

This trip was the latest attempt at diplomacy in the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Israel is one of the few countries that has good working relations with both Russia and Ukraine.
