Nearly 88 percent growth in the volume of digital transactions were registered in the country during the last three years. This was stated by Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. He said, there has been a paradigm shift in digital transactions in India as a result of the initiatives taken by the Government. He said, UPI has emerged as favourite digital payment choice with over 22 billion transactions in financial year 2020-21.

The Minister said, RuPay debit cards have been issued to Jan-Dhan account holders under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana. He said, 31.17 crore RuPay debit cards have been issued to PMJDY account holders so far to promote digital transactions in the country.
