In a bid to achieve 100 percent vaccination of Covid-19 to combat the lives to its trajectory, the NGO Aarohan in association with Centre for Advocacy and Research with an active support of Azim Premji Foundation has been organizing vaccination camps to ensure that everyone above the age of 18 years is vaccinated.
Aarohan, a non-governmental organization that has been working in the fields of education of underprivileged children has taken the responsibility in South Delhi with the project “Vaccination at your Doorstep”.
Under the part of the project the NGO and its partner organizations have so far organized camps in various locations of South Delhi, mainly IIT Delhi Campus, Public Parks, Sangam Vihar, Halls, Okhla. Above all this, the experience of holding the vaccination camp in Kali Masjid in Savitri Nagar, Malviya Nagar speaks about the harmony and brotherhood.
“Nothing can be rewarded better than this. This was all possible because of the efforts of our team members Shashi Sahai, Esha Guha, Abdul Azeem, Dr. Gauhar Azad and Dr. Sana,” while sharing her experience Rani Patel Founder President of Aarohan and core member of National Human Right commission said.
On behalf of Aarohan and other partners, she also thanked the intzamia Committee and its members, President Mohd Ismail, Secretary Haji Nazir Ahmed and Mohd Mohsin for providing the support with warmth, reaction that such events portray harmony and brotherhood within the society, which is essential for a fast growing nation like India. The members of the Muslim community welcomed the vaccination team even as Namaz was being performed in a mosque in a south Delhi locality. The head of the mosque after the daily prayers the announcement was made to encourage the community members and others to come out and get vaccinated.
The vaccination drive was strategically planned to ensure that everyone is vaccinated, to encourage the beneficiaries Sanitary Napkins, Masks, Sanitizers, Hand Gloves and eatables were provided at the vaccination centres with the support of UNICHARM, Apollo Foundation, Creative Pujaari and Harsahaimal ShiamLal Jewelers.
Aarohan has been relentlessly working on Covid-19 relief for the migrants and other victims, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared lockdown on March 23, 2020. The relief materials consisted of ration kits, medicines and also provided health services to those who were subjected to Covid-19 infection. The vaccination drive continues in other localities of South Delhi.
