Alleges demonetization failed to bring desired results

Congress Saturday hit out at the NDA government, alleging that demonetization failed to bring the desired results.
Briefing media in New Delhi, senior party leader Kapil Sibal said counterfeit notes, terrorism and black money were not curbed neither was a cashless society created post demonetisation.
Mr Sibal said, in 2016, cash in circulation was 17.97 lakh crore just before demonetisation.
He said now, it is 21.42 lakh crore, which means, after demonetisation, there was nearly three lakh crore increase in cash.
