At least five people were killed in a blast at a firecracker unit of Tamil Nadu. The blast occurred at the unit in Varaganur near Sivakasi this afternoon. Four of the victims were women.
Four others sustained serious injuries and have been admitted in a nearby hospital. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after fighting for more than an hour.
