dassault_rafaleThe Government has said the details of the agreement on Rafael fighter aircraft with France cannot be disclosed to the public.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, the Inter-Governmental Agreement, IGA, between India and France on the purchase of the aircraft is classified information.

She said, the material exchanged under the the IGA is governed by the provisions of the Security Agreement signed between the two Governments in 2008.

The Inter-Governmental Agreement was signed on 23rd September, 2016 for the supply of direct flyaway of 36 Rafale aircraft.

Neither any Public Sector Undertaking nor Private Sector industry is included in the agreement.
