Women in India are now more empowered: I&B Minister Smriti Irani


Smriti-IraniInformation and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani today said women in India are now more empowered. Speaking at the inauguration of Stree Swabhiman-a CSC initiative propelled by women entrepreneurs for promoting women’s health and hygiene on the occasion of International Women’s Day in New Delhi, Ms Irani said, today women feel more comfortable to discuss Menstrual Hygiene and the Centre is generating awareness on the subject at the grassroots level.

The Minister said, women, can ensure the progress of the country by taking everyone along.
