A delegation from the National Defence College (NDC) in New Delhi visited the Royal Saudi Armed Forces (RSAF) headquarters in Riyadh. The delegation was led by Major General Nagendra Singh, Senior Directing Staff of the NDC. The delegation was welcomed by the Chief of Staff at the RSAF. A brief was given to the delegation on the RSAF’s structure and the current restructuring efforts. The delegation also visited the National Defence University (NDU) in Riyadh. At NDU, they received an overview of the university’s activities and discussed with the university’s staff and faculty areas of potential collaboration between the two institutions.
The delegation also had an interaction with the Commander of Royal Saudi Naval forces. In addition to their military visits, the delegation also took the opportunity to learn about Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage. They visited the National Museum, Masmak Fort, and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Diriyah. These visits gave the delegation insights into the nation’s rich past. A visit to the Royal Commission of Riyadh City gave the delegation an understanding of the recent initiatives undertaken towards achieving VISION 2030. The Spouses of the delegation members also visited TCS all Women Centre and Princess Nourah University besides the Indian International School at Riyadh to experience first-hand the increasing contribution of Saudi women in niche technologies.
The National Defence College is a premier military education institution in Delhi established in 1960 to provide advanced learning for the study and practice of National Security and Strategy. It is dedicated to the intellectual development and strategic enculturation of selected senior officers of the armed forces and civilian government services of India and those from foreign countries, for higher leadership positions and responsibilities.
