The World Environment Day observed in India as elsewhere in the orld. With increasing concern about climate change across the world, this year’s slogan of the day was “Seven Billion Dreams: One Planet, Consume with Care”.
Ascertained by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Day is observed every year on 5th June to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action.
Because of the great vulnerability of small island developing states, where some 63 million people live, to sea level rise, the day has been dedicated to them.
