New Delhi World Book Fair opens today at Pragati Maidan in the national capital. Organised by the National Book Trust in association with India Trade Promotion Organisation, the main theme of this year’s fair is environment and climate change.

The European Union is the focus country this time. Our correspondent reports, more than 40 countries including Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are participating in the book fair. The annual event will come to an end on 14th of this month.

The event’s Theme Pavilion will have an international rights exhibition of nearly 500 titles published in English, Hindi, and other Indian languages. The fair will also witness panel discussions, talks, workshops, children’s activities, screening of short films, special photo exhibits as well as cultural and musical performances.

The time of fair is from 11 am to 8 pm. Tickets for children will cost 20 and 30 rupees for adults. The annual book fair will see around 800 publishers from across the country in different languages. Apart from the EU nations, more than 40 countries are participating in the book fair. The annual event will come to an end on 14th of this month.
