Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has said a team of experts from World Bank has offered to help to work towards Open Defecation Free, ODF, plus status.
The state would achieve ODF status by 25th September this year and after that a cleanliness drive would start to get ODF plus status. ODF plus refers to total sanitation in terms of solid waste management, improved sewerage lines, storm water drains and pucca cement roads.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, he said, 44 villages, two each from a district, would be taken up under a pilot project to ensure cleanliness by 1st November this year.
On women empowerment, he said the strength of women in the state police force has been increased from six per cent to eight per cent. He expressed confidence that the target of ten per cent would be achieved soon.
The Chief Minister also said that the scope of Saksham Yuva Yojna has been widened from April to include graduates.
