Akhil Bharatiya Valmiki Mahapanchayat today demanded that a Valmiki temple must be built alongside Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
It said that whenever a Ram temple is constructed at Ayodhya, there should be also a temple dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki.
“The entire Hindu society is aware that Maharsihi Valmiki was the creator of Ramayana and thus any temple dedicated to Lord Rama without Rishi Valmiki is actually incomplete,” the Mahapanchayat president Balkishan Mahar and general secretary Surendra Chaudhary said in a statement here.
They also pointed out that the Valmiki ‘samaj’ had faced enough troubles in the past but asserted that till the time the name of Rama will remain in the country, there will be also the name of Rishi Valmiki.
