Nine rebel Congress MLAs in Uttarakhand, today filed a petition in Nainital High Court challenging the show cause notice issued to them by State Legislative Assembly Speaker.
Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal had issued show cause notice to the nine Congress MLAs who opposing their own government in the Assembly stood with 27 BJP MLAs and met the Governor KK Paul at Raj Bhavan, seeking the dismissal of Harish Rawat led Government.
The Speaker has given the 9 Congress MLAs time till tomorrow to respond as to why their assembly membership be not terminated under the provision of the anti defection law.
