Tension gripped the Aishbagh area of capital city Lucknow after people of two communities clashed over playing of loudspeakers at places of worship Friday night. During the clash, the rival groups fired in air and pelted stones at each other which left at least six people with minor injuries. Meanwhile, police rushed to the area Master Kanhaiya Lal Road in Aishbagh and took some people into custody. The cops had to apply force to scatter the mob. DIG RK Chaturvedi said heavy police force, including PAC personnel have been deployed in the area to avert further communal flare up.
According to reports trouble started in the afternoon over use of loudspeakers at places of worship of the two communities. The two groups clashed then but the matter was resolved with the intervention of police and locals. However, the groups again began to fight and pelted stones at each other late in the evening. DM Raj Shekhar said sufficient police force was at the spot and the situation was normal.
