India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government over an incident of attack on a young couple from Switzerland by a group of young men in Fatehpur Sikri on the outskirts of Agra.
The Ministry officials today visited Apollo Hospital in New Delhi where the victims are admitted.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister K J Alphons has also written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressing his concern over the incident.
According to a report, a couple from Lausanne in Switzerland was chased and attacked by a group of young men on Sunday.
The External Affairs Minister said that Joint Secretary in the Ministry, S Bhattacharjee and Indian Ambassador-designate to Switzerland C B George today met the Swiss nationals. She said, Quentin Jeremy Clerc and Ms. Marie Droz were admitted to the hospital this morning.
She said, Ms. Droz has been discharged and Mr Clerc is improving. The Ministry is monitoring the progress of his medical condition.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister K J Alphons has also written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressing his concern over the incident.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested three persons. An FIR has been registered against four unknown people in this connection.
Additional Director General of Police Crime Chandra Prakash told media persons at Lucknow that efforts are on to nab others.
Earlier today Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while talking to media persons in Agra, had said that his government will develop a Tourist Police Force to provide security to the tourists visiting the state.
The Swiss pair has alleged that they were followed by a group of people near the railway station. Later, the group started passing comments at them and also forced the couple to stop and take selfies.
The group’s harassment soon turned violent and attacked them causing severe injuries.
