External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has departed for Colombo to participate in the 2nd Indian Ocean Conference. Mrs Swaraj will be addressing the inaugural session.
The theme of this year’s conference is Peace, Progress and Prosperity and will involve participants from more than 35 countries. The first edition of the Indian Ocean Conference was held in Singapore in September 2016.
During the visit, the Minister will call on the President and the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. She will also have a separate meeting with the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister.
