Several passengers were taken ill on Thursday after smoke was detected inside an air-conditioned coach of the Kolkata Metro.
The officials said, smoke was seen coming out of the Dum Dum-bound metro rake soon after the train left the Maidan station.
Metro Railway CPRO Indrani Banerjee said, the power connection was switched off and fire has been doused.
The official said, all the passengers have been evacuated and there has been no casualty.
Metro service was temporarily suspended after the incident.
